Working more than 50 hours a week with no time to spend with family, friends or significant others not only disturbs physical fitness but also develops mental imbalance over time. In these busy times, it is challenging to maintain a life which involves perfect time management. To become successful in life, healthy brain and strong body are the key components. There are certain tips to attain balanced health that have to be followed if the majority of your life is “work”.
1. Spend time with family and friends
Looking for true love? Have an outing with your family and friends at least once a week to enjoy the feeling of affection and care. Share your thoughts, emotions and work-related things with spouse, children, parents or friends which will improve your relationships and work as a catharsis for you.
2. Have enough sleep
If you are cutting your sleep time for work or other activities, you are giving an invitation to many severe mental and physiological diseases. Students need 8 hours to sleep, and Adults require at least 6-8 hours of sleep time. Sleeping helps in repairing damaged tissues and restore the daily wear and tear of the body (Furihata et al., 2018).
3. Take meals on time
Your body has its own biological clock which requires nutrition at a proper time. Once the digestive juices start flowing in digestive glands of the body at a particular time, it needs food to digest. If no food is available to digest, the juices start to damage the walls of glands causing acidity, ulcers and other gastric problems. It is imperative to take meals on time, avoid skipping meals and stay away from unhealthy snacking between meals (Cabanas-Sánchez, 2018).
4. Keep away from smoking and drinking
Nicotine, tobacco, alcohol and other smoking and drinking substance reduces metabolism, suppresses the immune system and affects fertility in human beings. This is just a start, there are numerous fatal diseases caused by smoking and drinking. Binge eating while drinking alcohol is a stepping stone towards obesity which is again a major causal factor for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism etc (Furihata et al., 2018).
5. Exercise daily
Plan your schedule in which you can take out at least one hour for routine cardio exercises. A brisk walk or jog in a park or on a treadmill could keep your body healthy and strong; increase your stamina and other systems of your body. It is essential and basic to have one hour of exercise which enables you to do the things you like such as maintaining your hobbies, travelling, work-related pressure etc. This daily fitness routine will keep you active and on the go all the time (Cabanas-Sánchez, 2018).
Just these 5 habits can change your overall living the life experience. You will feel a new flow of energy running down your brain and body. Having a mentally and physically fit life is the key to the balanced lifestyle. Once you get in the zone of following these points, you will excel in the art of living.
